Our end of season league position ?

Whilst there is clearly a long way to go, October has been particularly poor for us. Disappointed yesterday, but not as bad a performance as evidenced in the majority of the month’s matches.

I consider we will make the play-offs. (4th position)

    Overly optimistic?

Not overly optimistic Prando. About right, play-offs.

Personally, I think that we will be second to Fulham. Bournemouth are having a purple patch at the moment but things often change in the New Year. However, unless we get investment next season, we will be back here in two years time as our current squad is not good enough to hold there own in the Premiership.

We could well be in League One in two seasons time under Lai.

With parachute payments dropping for next season I guess that he’ll cash in on Grant if he scores 20+ and we’ll lose 3 or 4 others from our better players.

This will be a husk of a club by the time Lai leaves, he’ll recoup all of his money before selling off the few remaining bones from the skeleton.

Knowing our luck he’ll retain ownership of the ground and we’ll then end up like Coventry City and be paying rent to him to play at our spiritual home.

It was good of Peace to spend so long finding us the “right owner”.

Just imagine if he’d found us a bad one.

While I didn't think that Prando was being overly optimistic I think that you might be Tipps.

If the board somehow manage to miraculously conjure up a centre forward fit for a team supposedly challenging for automatic promotion then we could potentially finish third, providing we go on a run after the January window. So we have another 3 months of working with what we’ve got I’m afraid and I can see us slipping away well out of contention.

With this current front line I fear we will struggle to manage the playoffs.

Annoyed firstly because the championship in my opinion is not that strong. Covid has impacted so many of what would be the other also rans in this league. Us Fulham and Shef Utd less so.

Annoyed secondly as it could have so much better if Chairman Lai had not imposed what is essentially a spending embargo on our board. Lai’s economics is like one of those one way valves that happily lets money come in one direction only.

Could have been so much better
    Let all say it loudly

Comfortably third. I can’t see any convincing sides behind us

If, as I predict, we will be in the play-offs, what then ?
Great excitement and undoubted enthusiasm to achieve promotion. We (me and SWMBO) will be there hoping.
If successful, realism kicks in and we know we must face another relegation dogfight.
Would you prefer the highlights of another Championship promotion season or being subject to a ‘whipping horse’ Premiership team?
Am I being overly pessimistic…realistic or non ambitious?
    I know what I prefer.
