    Another shocking performance!

What is the matter with Enland's batsmen? Don't they learn? This was an even worse performance than in the previous tests, if that's possible. Same unnecessary shots, same results. We will lose this series 5-0. Shocking!

Never followed cricket, my Dad tried to get into it he used to take me to Trent Bridge.
Just heard Ray Illingworth has passed away.

I said years ago that the one day Micky Mouse cricket would have a detrimental effect on our test cricket and so it seems to be coming home to roost. Too many players are playing mercenary cricket around the world when they should be concentrating on the red ball county scene.

You make a very good point here and I think that you're correct. The short game is detrimental to test cricket in general.

Read the thread title and thought it was a bit early to be having a moan since we don't even play until tomorrow 😊 .

They should shame them by bringing them home after this match and forfeiting the remaining two matches.

We can’t even learn the lessons of the line and length that the Aussie bowl us out using.

Buttler is a spineless wet lettuce, I wish they’d just f u c k him off and gives Bairstow or better still Foakes the gloves.

Root needs to resign at the end of this match, show a shred of decency and integrity FFS.

Foakes should be the England wicketkeeper, probably the best English wicketkeeper so should be in the team. I’ve never been convinced about Root’s captaincy but I suspect his record isn’t bad when you look at the stats (I may be wrong there), however, who else could take over as captain? Root is certainly our best batsman (N.B. Batsman, not batter) but I don’t see anyone else in the squad that stands out as captain material. We need a Mike Brearley type.

Money is killing Test Cricket, as well as the county game, because it is all being focused on the frightful 20/20 and the abomination that is the ‘Hundred’.

Root has one win in the last 11 or 12 matches and a litany of defeats Kets.

He talks in “blue sky management speak”, it’s like being at a corporate management meeting, he talks mind numbing and meaningless platitudes.

We need a Brearley/Hussain type of captain who isn’t scared of ruffling feathers and isn’t desperate to be liked.

    Silverwood needs firing as well.
