No New Year message from John Nelms

Unfortunately there has been no New Year message on the club website from John Nelms telling us what the Dundee FC directors are doing to back James McPake with finance to sign players to ensure that we avoid relegation at the end of this season.

He's John Nelms, the CEO of a football club, not the Prime Minister, US President or The Queen.

Comms out of Dens are diabolical but I wouldn't ever expect a New Year message from John Nelms. Did he do one last year? Year before?

How many other clubs CEOs have done a New Years message?

I would rather we have a surprising and comprehensive recruitment process than any PR based blurb about wishing fans a Happy New Year.

I enclose details of a message from the club’s owners which was published on the club website on 5th January 2020. https://dundeefc.co.uk/news/new-year...om-the-owners/

Seriously Islay - did you read it? I'll quote the first couple of lines for you.

'Yesterday’s official matchday programme included a New Year message from John Nelms and Tim Keyes.

The message from the owners can be read below.

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the first match of 2020 in Ladbrokes Championship against Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club'.

Our first game at Dens in 2022 will be against St Mirren on 29th January, maybe you'll get your new year message in the programme for that match? Maybe you won't.

As the first home game of 2022 has been moved from Sunday 2nd January to Saturday 29th January thanks to Nicola Sturgeon panicking this is all the more reason to post a New Year message and latest news from Tim Keyes on the Dundee Football Club website.

Was there a website New Year statement last year? Year before? No. Is there any need for one this year? No.

I don't buy programmes but I believe there's a column by Nelms in every one that he uses for things like that.
