Yes I read this letter in the Advertiser and noticed that the author wasn't brave enough to disclose his/her/other name and address.
Actually that's the case with a lot of the letters in the Advertiser

So why would he/she/other want to remain anonymous?

Well if the abuse you get on this board when you criticise PW is anything to go by then I can well understand why anonymity is a good idea.

Thought that was a bit woolly in terms of the point of the letter. What is he/she trying to say?

As far as Rugby Union having a more gentlemanly/honest culture is concerned, that is absolute boll.ox and the author clearly hasn't played the modern game. Yes, there is no arguing with the ref and few visible histrionics on the field, but there is (and always has been) plenty of gamesmanship going on during the game and off the field before and after the match. It's a real cliche to attach an aura of moral probity and educational superiority to watching that particular code. The idea of jolly good chaps playing for the love of the game is an anachronism and probably matches the era in football history when players were on a £20 a week pay limit and came straight to the changing room from a shift at the pit.

The writer of that letter is clearly an idiot. Maybe an idiot with an axe to grind? Certainly many the things he cited as being qualities of the Titans apply to Paul Warne too, so what was the point?
