We wait in hope.
Just over 12 hours to go, I'm sure there will be at least some news out of FP before transfer deadline shuts (Lamie). But anything else?
A left back would be glorious but I don't see it given Alexander's bizarre love of McGinley.
A striker - a proper here to score goals none of this all across the front three rubbish striker - is also needed this window ideally or next at the latest. Alexander at least recognises the need here - hence looking at Rudden - but everyone else has been/is looking too.
A new contract for Bevis. If we give him the token fee we receive for Lamie to sweet his deal it'll be good business.
We wait in hope.
Update from the PA:
Motherwell have rejected a bid from Dundee for defender Ricki Lamie, who signed a pre-contract deal with the Taysiders late last week.
“There has been a bid that’s come in but it’s not an offer that we would accept for Ricki Lamie,” Well assistant manager Chris Lucketti said.
“It’s nowhere near our valuation so that’s in Dundee’s court now as to whether they come back. If they don’t come back, Ricki Lamie will be here and we will be pleased if Ricki Lamie is here until the end of the season.”
On the prospects of more incomings at Fir Park, Lucketti said: “We are always looking but I can’t see anything else happening at the moment. We are pleased with the squad but anything can happen on transfer deadline day.”
We have gone 270 minutes without scoring a goal in normal time, I have a strong feeling we will not score in the next 180 minutes. IMO it is blatantly obvious in which area we need to strengthen in this transfer window asa priority. If we don’t sign a centre forward now I will confidently forecast we do not finish anywhere near the top six.
Well that was...disappointing. We're obviously not going to go down so it's not a toys out of the pram reaction but very frustrating. Maybe the management team have nailed it, in which case huge credit will be due to them, but if it goes wrong from here there'll be a queue round the block of people saying certain areas of the team meant it was obviously going to go wrong, why didn't you fix it?
The club also needs to set out just what it wants to do in the next few years because I suspect the AGM figures will show that we are in very robust health financially. If we're saving money for a big project, great, what is it? If not what's our ambition on the park? Because Hibs, Aberdeen and Hearts make more money than us ever year - the first two are scrambling to patch together poor seasons but in summer will have their usual financial advantage plus 3m of Boyle money and X-million from Ramsay to spend as well. Hearts are already stronger than us and will have a 50-50 chance of 3m from the Conference League groups. This season is, on paper, our best chance of a high finish in the league for a year or two, the fans are entitled to know why we seem to have such little interest in taking it.
Oh and turning down money for Lamie, what on earth...even allowing for Ojala and Solholm being injury prone, we just signed Niernnold who play there, we kept Mugabi, Carroll is apparently preferred there than left-back and that's before you even consider the real emergency options like Donnelly, SOD and MOH.
