I do believe you can sign anyone out of contract, but don't forget the team limits of registered players.

Yes that’s an agent tactic just after deadline..get out of the contract and become available so any team what missed out or in a panic will sign them up…
Griffiths was constantly mentioned and linked on here at time under evans along with other sweaty socks…may and goodwillie…
