    This is great news.

Strauss is a fabulous bloke with a great brain for all cricket matters.

It may take 5 years but I have no doubt that if anyone can lead us to the top of all formats then it's Strauss.

We have to start playing county cricket in late May, June, July and August and if it needs bigger squads to enable sides to play 4 day cricket and 50 over and T20 during the summer months as well.

There's no reason why all formats can't be played during proper summer.

I thought that Andrew Strauss is to take over in an interim capacity until long term appointments can be made.

The problem with England's test team is that the batting is abysmal, the fielding is shoddy and the bowling is average. Otherwise we're not in bad shape!!!
