Don't normally think much of celebrities' efforts when they talk about political or other issues outside of their field, however well intentioned. There are a few exceptions of course and Schwarzenegger's video to both Russian civilians and soldiers is one . Referencing his own connections with Russia, the experiences of his own father (who served under the German side at Lenningrad), the storming of the Capitol by Trump supporters, the inherent links between Russia and Ukraine and the propaganda of Putin, his 9 minute appeal focuses on the fact that there is a clear difference between the ordinary Russian public and the actions and aims of the Kremlin.Oddly moving and thoughtful.Hopefully will encourage both Russian civilians and soldiers to question Putin's actions.

Thought the speech was sincere and brilliant

Anything that helps at the moment no matter how small.

Problem is reaching the mass population of Russia. Those who have the wherewithal to receive his message are probably already well informed of the real situation.

Putins orchestrated brainwashing over many years is now deeply ingrained in the minds of many and will take some undoing.

I can understand a lot of Russians would relate to him too BS - he comes over with a sincere love for the people.

Depends on the volume of Russians who hear it. People are frightened over there and very few will risk speaking out! Putin is really taking that country back to the dark ages. Full of hypocrites though with all the rich Oligarchs loving the good old West for champagne and strawberries so you can’t make it up.

Someone should outright rattle Putin’s and ask if the West are so bad why are all his very wealthy inner circle all living a champagne lifestyle in the West including his Foreign Secretary’s daughter in London! Is Russia so bad for this elite bunch of hypocrites?

He is rattled already 'Al and a few days ago had a pop at those people for choosing to live the life they do in the West in an attempt to garner support from the Russian people.

He is a very calculating, single minded, narcissistic psychopath - everything is carefully scripted, never random and his cruelty knows no bounds. His own people are themselves feeling the effects of the sanctions but a good number of them swallow his propaganda that the West is the aggressor.
