    Pitch Invaders

I've seen videos of the Police (bobbies) in action during crowd control. Some incredible skill, and frankly guts, charging into crowds and some really skilled equestrian work in some less than ideal circumstances. One of the constants seems to be strong reliance and skill with night sticks. From what I've seen it's hit first and ask questions later. Better that than what we experience here in the US when "peaceful protests occur" and they burn down entire city blocks while the police the watch helplessu

I can't understand why the same skill is not exhibited the minute a pitch invader strikes. I'm not talking about a crowd charging after a big win. I'm talking about the "protester' or drunken knob that interrupts a match. why don't they beat him half to death with nightsticks and make an example of him/her? it's going to get worse before it get's better.

Over here Spaldy people don't take kindly to police brutality - if they did as you suggest there likely would be a riot - with a few thousand invading the pitch to get at the coppers IMO

but do agree - generally far far to soft and woke to actually do much policing

    thank for the info.

However, is it really Police brutality when you invade the pitch during a game? I believe that tickets to a prem level game are very expensive and no one paid good money to see you tie yourself to a goal post or interfere with play. I equate brutality with an interaction that might be random, incorrect or a case of mistaken identity or arrest. I am kind of surprised that some of the ardent supporters haven't beat one of these clowns after they are pulled off the pitch.

Look up Erica Rowe - who invaded the pitch naked at Twickenham and see how the police dealt with that and the strategic use of helmets 😎

I suspect those helmets were never worn again, today they would be on Ebay straight after the game

Not entirely sure on this, but doesn't a police officer need reasonable cause before they are allowed to strike someone?

I am guessing that unless a pitch invader is armed or showing signs of intent to hurt someone, police can only apprehend them?

I was watching the Everton manure game prior to ours and the cameras were on this fat ugly Prk Everton fan topless yelling I f your m and acting inappropriately total d head. Why they had the cameras on him is another question.
Idiots are Idiots and invading the pitch is just another example.
