    The Boot Room Boys.

A documentary on BT Sport about Liverpool from the start of Shankley’s era in 1959 up to the present day.

What struck me about it was the way Klopp adopted the same ethos and now has his own boot room set up.

The way his team of coaches talked about him was fascinating.

Liverpool have something truly special with their set up now and their comeback from the jaws of defeat against Villarreal is testament to the character and set up at Liverpool.

Then you look at Villarreal in their 23,500 capacity stadium as another lesson as to how to run and develop a club.

It shows that success is not impossible but you need a coaching set up and players with the same mentality as at both of these clubs.

    Oh.......and good ownership!

    I’ll get my coat!

I have always been an admirer of the Liverpool ethic. A team built up from the roots over time to become the most successful British club of all time. Good player's yes, but also a team and workrate effort that fails to recognise when they are outplayed and beaten, as we saw last night. Football is a simple game and Liverpool keep it simple, good passing, high pressing and quality finishing.
I really hope they sweep the board as they are a proper club, not an average club that has been taken over by billionaires and bought trophies like City and Chelsea.

I just don’t understand how clubs like ours don’t look at the example of clubs like Liverpool and Villarreal.

Champions League on gates of 23,500 tops and no massive SKY money.

A behind the scenes “boot room” philosophy as well.

In essence you need the right manager who wants to build a dynasty and who is prepared to stay for a long time under a good owner.
