    A Question For Those ITK

(Sorry if i've missed this info).

Burchnall was under contract when he left for FGR - I read that he was on a 4 year contract.

Did Notts and FGR agree on compensation, or did he just go by mutual consent gratis ??

I’m defo not ‘ITK’ but one of the Notts statements said IB QUIT to join FGR. It may just be a figure of speech, but if he quit and then joined FGR then no compo surely? I’m not well versed on it all really.

I'm definitely not ITK. but I would've thought that the Reedtz Bros would be keen to take up a compo deal if posible, - particularly as it was reported that the move had been done ' all above board' by both parties ??

Head coach Ian Burchnall has today agreed to join Forest Green Rovers.

The recently-promoted League One side made a formal approach after Monday’s play-off eliminator defeat to Grimsby Town and, following internal discussions, we gave them permission to negotiate terms with Burchnall.

Those terms have today been agreed and the move has now been formalised.

A statement from our board of directors reads: “We would like to place on record our appreciation to Forest Green Rovers for the way they have conducted themselves throughout this process.

"Those terms have today been agreed and the move has now been formalised."

So Gumpy, do I take it that QUOTE: " those terms have been agreed" means some compo was paid out, or is it just about Burchnall's salary / contract?

I've no idea mate but it does sound like it was done ''by the book''.

Probably best you go support another Club this season as you obviously aren't a supportive fan or have anything constructive to say apart from you don't like it.

That's what Sam Allardyce did all those years ago and after months of wrangling Notts got zilch.

Forest Green Rovers were very annoyed about the underhand way Watford poached their manager and therefore made a virtue of pointing out that their recruitment of our manager was done in the correct and proper way, so we can be fairly certain a compensation package was agreed. The precise figure hasn't been revealed, but that's normal when managers move. Even a lot of player transfer fees these days are undisclosed.
