Age is but a number

Reading Gru's continued obstacle for our club not to sign players over 30 years of age made me wonder if his argument holds any weight.
I honestly think that we need some more age/experience to be able to compete at this level. Indeed if you look at Luton last season then that experience was highly valuable to them.
Then look at the tabled bids for Smith's signature at the same age. Most of us will be happy if he resigned for us at 30. Then look at Mo Salah who is also 30 plus other players that are still playing well after 30 and at the top European level.

Is 30 just a number? What do you think?

There's not much time for them to prove themselves. Salah has been a great player and there's a big difference between him and the 30 year olds were getting. Why don't their own clubs want them. Errr because they are no longer good enough.

Frog, You might have a point but only to a certain degree as many 30+ players do succumb to injury/ fatigue. Having said that, how many of the Italian team were well over 30 who beat a far younger England team in the last Euro finals?

They didn’t fare so well though in the World Cup qualifying though
