when do we start to get concerned?

I know it is only the 11th June, however players are back in under 3 weeks and at the moment we are at least 8 players short of a reasonable size first team squad, that is based on what PW said after promotion. In the media we hear only negative things, two key players dragging their heels on a decision to stay or go, the manager wanted elsewhere, our best home grown player wanted by the Blades and no new imminent incoming players. We know that the only way we will stay up is by being extremely fit and hard working, keeping the score tight in a championship as tough as we have seen in recent years. A huge thing for PW is the fitness of players and that will have already started for our players with strict summer regimes. We will need everday of pre-season for that 1st team 11 to be ready and with the new rules and possible injuries the rest of the squad will need to be ready too, we won't be able to carry pasengers this season. Buying players near the start of the season or after the start, means they are unlikely to be fit enough when compared to the ones that have been through a gruelling pre-season under Warne. We were told that this time would be different, in terms of investment and learning from previous failed Championship seasons, so when do we start to say, what is going on here?

Chioe he's got to be sold this summer can't let him go for nothing if he's not. That will fund part of the recruitment before the season starts. Not worried at the moment not much activity anywhere at present. Will have to have players under contract for July 30th when the season starts.

True that there is not a great deal of activity yet, including any firm interest in Mr Ogbene

Concerned now we messed around last time. This season its a short break due to the WC we ended up with George Hirst look how that panned out. The Smith and Iccy thing has resonated into a bit of a farce i understand its a big thing but over 3 weeks now . We Will be going to Croatia with half a team, how are player supposed to bound when there not on this trip and are signed at the last minute .

We appear to be far too soft in situations like this. However good they may be, it is not acceptable to allow players to hang on until the last minute in the hope of securing a better deal elsewhere. They should have been given a very clear deadline well before now.

I hear what you are saying but contractually they don’t have to say what their decision is until 30 June

i dont agree with that. their current contract expires on 30th June, the clubs new offer can be whenever the club say so. So for example the club tell the players they will be making a new offer now we are promoted, that can be put in writing to the player with a date that the offer expires, that has nothing to do with existing contracts.Unless their current contract specifically states, that any subsequent offer doesn't have to be responded to until 1st July and to be honest any club that has allowed such a clause deserves all it gets. This end of June date is misleading, a club can contact any player via their existing club and say they are interested in talking to them and even offer them a contract, we did for washington.
