Collins for me if he’s here though I could see Jack cork playing a big part for us and he could be the old head amongst youth.

But I said Collins because in the last games he was desperate to drive us forward and I’ve said before he’s old beyond his years - I’d like us to build around him tbh but we’ll see if we can keep him.

I’ve also said if he leaves for poor money it’s a con as he’s going to be a superstar so if he had to go then they’ll have to pay heavily for his services.

But I’d like to see him captain.

He probably hasn't been signed yet. I expect a new arrival to be Captain.

The fact that so many names are being mentioned shows that we don't really have an outstanding candidate, Sammy has the right idea imo, Vinny would do well to bring in someone who can command respect, and run the show on and off the field. Our next captain is out there somewhere, waiting for the call.

I know you have, as usual it pays not to take you too seriously. Ashley can be captain if you want, anyone can, it's just a matter of putting the armband on and shouting heads or tails. Someone inspirational, like Joey Barton for instance, would be better, but to be honest, I don't think it really matters, in the grand scheme of things, captains don't usually make a whole lot of difference.

I don't think Kompany will bring in a captain. He'll bring players under 23 to grow with our current ones. The captain will be one who lives the Burnley philosophy.

That's none other than Ashley Westwood.
