O/T Kate Bush is Number One

Running up that hill is number one 37 years after it was released. Quite a good track - I'd say its probably her best. The popularity is due to the Netflix series Stranger Things which I have tried to watch and cannot for the life of me see what all the fuss is about, it really is rather dross.

As for the rest of the charts one could say great music died a long, long time ago. Green green grass by George Ezra FFS!!!

I only found out yesterday that originally the track was going to be called “Make A Deal With God” ( as per some of the lyrics ) but she was told the track would have to come off the album as it wouldn’t get airplay in the USA and in many other countries.

She didn’t want to compromise but after working for three years on the album she didn’t want to lose the track so she relented on the title.

I absolutely love Wuthering Heights but I think “Man With The Child In His Eyes” is a wonderful song.

Consider also that she was 13/14 years of age when she wrote it.

Our most unique and fantastic female singer and songwriter in my opinion and absolutely lush in a s e x u a l sense when she was in her late ****s and twenties.

Running Up That Hill is a fantastic track but for me Placebo do it even better in their live shows.

Although I haven't caught up with series 4 yet, personally I really liked Stranger Things especially first two series. Kate Bush isn't the only 80s star to be grateful to the series either and I know Ian McNabb, for example, was happy to find royalties paid for use of the Icicle Work's Birds Fly (whisper to a scream).

As for Kate Bush, I quite like a lot of her stuff but Placebo's version of Running up that hill is also good and brings out the dark side of the song. Thanks for posting👍

I was never a big fan of Kate Bush, didn’t actually dislike her stuff but never bought any of her albums and I didn’t like the theatrical stuff she did with the songs. I much prefer proper rock/country singers.

Speaking of live shows, I'm off to see The Wonder Stuff in B'ham on Friday - first gig in 4 years, can't wait.

In my opinion she is the best singer songwriter, choreographer ever. The talent she has is astounding.
So many of her songs I like. Cloudbusting, Hounds of Love, The Man With the Child in his Eyes, Lionheart.
There were only two truly jaw dropping songs on top of the pops in the seventies, nothing had ever been like them. Bohemian Rhapsody and Wuthering Heights.

Never really got the fuss over Kate Bush in all honesty. Caterwauling b@ll@cks for the most part and not particularly attractive either. Overrated in my subjective opinion.

Sort of agree with you, much of it a load of pretentious rubbish.
