I hope we are not going to sign players in a panic move at the end of the transfer window. Other clubs have been doing their business early, which IMO is the sensible thing to do. As it gives the new signings the opportunity to train and buildup understandings with their new teammates and allows them game team and to adapt to formations and tactics. This is all before any competitive games arrive. Our manager stated a couple of weeks ago that the club had two or three players that he was hopeful of signing soon. Only McGinn has been secured. Let’s get players in before we end up panic buying/ signing what’s left on the market

Alternatively you could ask how good is any player willing to commit to Motherwell (or any of our peers) mega-early in the window?

Getting the right players whenever is much more important than getting bodies in early.
