    Music Fans

Been speaking to a few folk who were at TRNSMT last weekend, now festivals are no ma cup of tea but I do go to a fair few gigs in Scotland. There was no parking at TRNSMT last weekend, no additional public transport was provided in fact the trains were off altogether, there was 3 hr queues to get in scorching weather and it seemingly took the organisers hrs to get water to those stuck in the queues. I'll guarantee that wouldn't happen at the rugby and it certainly winny happen to the golf w@nkers this week in fact the Open has no fewer than 3 park and rides, why are music fans treated so badly?

Not a fan of festivals either but love going to (and playing) gigs.

Rock fans are considered a lower class; if it was an opera festival there would be ample parking for the Rollers and Jags but us scummy rock fans can walk.

Was at Duran Duran in Inverness .....surprisingly I survived it and it was ok .......but never seen so many freaks in the one place.

And getting on the buses on the way back into inversnecky would test the patience of a patient person....I'm not one of them

The TRNSMT organisers should have arranged extra public transport as they knew in advance tat there would be no trains due to industrial action. People attending the event should have taken bottles of water with them in case there were long queues to get in.
It is called forward planning and thinking for yourself.

TRNSMT was organised long before the rail strike, how could they have known it would happen? Psychic powers maybe? The organisers would have been copeting with others, many of whom will have had existing contracts, to arrange alternative transport. Individual groups did organise their own transport with mini buses and car shares i.e. they planned ahead. I realise old crusties like you consider the rock underclass to be unthinking scum but actually we can plan and think for ourselves.

Many people will have taken water with them, some will not have, you actually can't take liquid containers onto festival sites for 'security reasons' - bit like the football - so to have none when you join the queue isn't really unusual. It's possible that due to the entry congestion those that had water might have used it all expecting to procure additional supplies on site - those that had none will also have expected to procure on site.

Aye I often carry bottles of water aboot with me in case I get stuck in a queue. I doubt very much if the organisers are in control of the local public transport and even if they are it makes no odds to the difference in the way both sets of fans are treated.
