Seems an odd thing to say after the season we have had but today illustrated exactly why I’m worried about the playoffs. A team sitting deep and staying tight even at 1-0 down just waiting for that one chance that inevitably comes their way and bang….1-1 with 5 minutes left. Why can’t we win 1-0?!

If this happened in a playoff game would anyone back us to win on penalties? Woking aside, every team in the playoffs has taken points off us this season and both Bromley and Boreham Wood haven’t lost to us this year either. Both of those teams know exactly how to setup against us and play just like York….but better.

Our right hand side is a big defensive weakness, Nemane just isn’t a good defender, he so rarely wins a defensive battle it is unreal….luckily he doesn’t have to very often but I bet my right nut that any team in the playoffs will. I’m having nightmares of Colclough running at him and Andy Dallas waiting in the middle!

Do you always get what you deserve? Do you heck. How many times have scenarios like todays played out this season? Utter domination but either the goalie plays a blinder, we miss loads of chances, or the ref cons us….and then we get sucker punched. What are we doing wrong, or is it just plain bad luck?!

The team have done wonderfully this year but I left the game today feeling rather despondent, even after a nice lap of appreciation by the players. The thought Boreham Wood time wasting and boring out a penalty shoot out to break our hearts again is haunting me.
