a few additions before the window shuts

and we will be cooking with gas.

This team got the results at the end of last season with Chris Wood up top.

If we bring in 3 or 4 players before September, we will be pushing for Europe.

Id love to see us get Gallagher, Pedro, Paqueta and Maddison next week.

How does the old saying go, aim for the sun and land among the stars or something. What a game that was

Plus...Craig Hope tweeted that Wilson has a tight hamstring and came off because it didn't feel right.

We are SO close to being a very good team but that would be blown out of the water if we had to play with Wood for a few weeks.

I wonder what João Pedro’s thinking after watching that? I hope he starts pushing for the move. I agree with you though - if we had some attacking options on the bench it may have helped us when City started to throw the kitchen sink at us at 3-1. As it is we had noone on the bench to give them food for thought.

That's the only weak link at the club, the bench, and it's very important that the manager can sub and use different tactics when he sees the game plan needs to be adjusted.

As it is now E.H. is stuck with what he is left with when the best 11 is out and his hands are tied.

I thought Wood did well when coming on but everyone knows we’re light in attack, especially when (not if) Wilson misses games. Joao Pedro looks likely to sign according to reports. His versatility across the frontline will come in handy but he’s not the finished article at 20. We’re an injury away from disaster in pretty much every position but Rome wasn’t built in a day. This time next year I expect us to have improved our attack substantially. I’d love another quality CM to play alongside Bruno and Joelinton but that’s for down the line. Something good is happening at NUFC. Let’s not get impatient.

I think that performance will have made a lot of players sit up and take notice.

As said, patience is key and our owners have been amazing so far; some fans are starting to forget where we were this time last year and have spent too long playing FIFA/Football Manager, etc and think you can just sign players by simply opening the cheque book. And before anyone mentions Forest, we could have made 16 signings of that level of player (and that's not a criticism of Forest or the type of player they're signing but we're shopping in different aisles never mind different shelves which, initself, makes a refreshing change and shows how far we've come).

True. The longer those who do the selecting and buying here stick to their principles and ethics we will be alright. We may not get all we hope for this window but a couple more, to my mind, a good striker and a winger would be very useful.

As usual Zip I like the cut off your jib.

Bang on the money. We are buying elite young players with amazing potential ceilings.

We don't have European football so we are having to work harder to get the players Howe needs to continue this upwards momentum
