Is the club going to allow Chio and Dan to leave just like Smith and Ihiekwe?

Here we are again in a similar situation to when the club didn't react 'early' enough to retain Smith's and Ihiekwe's services.

Warney has openly stated in the Tizer last week that he knows there's bigger clubs out there who can pay them more next season than what they currently earn but, do we have to suffer losing two of our best players because the club aren't sitting down with them now and looking to retain their services by putting the 'big' contract on the table to them both?

We offered Smith a five figure sum. Weds came back with a bigger one and Warney, very rightly said no thank you so we lost Smith's services. Now if that money was there for Smith why aren't we at least looking to put sizeable contract offers to both Chio and Dan NOW before it's too late?

Both are great assets and would be hard to replace. They have blossomed under Warney's tuition and are without a doubt good Championship players.

Why does it take us til the latter end of a season before we attempt to do anything about this kind of situation. Offer them 3 year deals with a decent wage package. They are both young men and stability and security of a new contract is key and could well be the answer to this issue. Do it NOW before it's too late....AGAIN!

I'd say, being realistic we'd have to offer them at least 20K a week to get them interested so that's 6M to keep the two of them for an extra 3 years. Is TS willing to gamble on that? History says no so I expect we'll sell one or both of them in the next couple of days and cash in while we can. Maybe sell one to fund the other?

CAM, that's way too high! Smith didn't get 20k a week at Weds as some claim to say he did. A fair offer to up their wage to 10k a week, now, with the attachment of an extended 3 year deal may very well do it. Security like I said is a key factor in all of this and neither player knows what their fitness levels will be like in say 2 years. At least they will have the added security of a longer contract to feed off.

It makes common sense, we have the money to do all that.We get over 7 million each season that we are in the championship. To increase just two players wages by 5k, would be a small fraction, actually leaving a massive 93%. of the 7 million. We cannot allow players to leave.Warney has created this successful model that is unbeaten and with a little help could go futher.

I said to get them interested Brin to sign almost a year ahead of when they need to. Otherwise they can both just wait and see as next year they will both be 26 with possibly the 3 prime years of their careers looming.

We need to get the ownership of the Seattle Mariners baseball team in at RUFC with their attitude towards speculating to accumulate. As statistically the worst team in MLB over the past 20 years they have just signed their 21 year old 'phenom' to what could end up being an 18 year, $470M deal. At 21 I was on a RMBC student grant of around 1500 quid

They are both key to helping us stay in the championship so wouldn’t sell either now seeing has we wouldn’t have time to get in replacements . Yes they would leave for nothing but they could help us survive this season. Chairman Carnt or won’t pay the sort of wages they will demand next season.

Than you got signing on fees both would recieve as a free agent.

    That's hundred off thousands atleast.

We just can't compete with money and the statue off championship clubs.

I agree with security but these players are in demand and to a degree already wealthy.

There your average £400 a week family man

The club should try to be adding a year or 2 on wiles contract now.

But I totally agree with what you say but we are frog sperm in a very large pond
