Paul Merson 'Man-U should sign Maxi'

Reckons they should sign Maxi instead of Anthony (who they've had a £76 million bid rejected for)

Eddie is pretty adamant that he doesn't want to weaken our team so i can't see it happening.

If Maxi is consistent he'd make the France team for Qatar. I'd love to see him and Mbappe in the same team

No chance he's going there-or anywhere, for that matter.

We used to say of Ben Arfa, 'if he was consistent, he wouldn't be playing for us'.

Well, if Maxi was consistent, we're becoming exactly the sort of team he'd play for.

Well, we don't need the money.

I could remember when we were desperate for players in January, there was talk of a Levy-led transfer boycott, they were price-gouging us for Lingard and shitting on us from a great height...

We should tell them to fuck off when it comes to Dubz and not imagine selling them ASM. We can't be adding players like Isak while removing players like ASM. Keep the team together.

Agree about Dubs, too. They acted like right cunts over Lingard and I'd be gutted if he went there.

Sadly, he's keen to go because he's gutted that he's not our number one and sees this as his last big move/chance. In that sense, I don't blame him as Man U, despite their recent woes, are still one of the biggest clubs in football.

£5m loan fee with a £10m obligation to buy at the end of the season.

Dubz will get a nice signing on fee and increased wage. So good luck to him.

I think £15m for a 33yr old is a great bit of business for us when we only paid £10m for Pope. The £10m is over 3 yrs.

    Great business indeed

    Merson is a muppet.

We aren't selling anyone from the first team, especially to Man United.

Only players going out the door will be surplus to requirements. Certainly not our star player.

The guy is a alci loser with no clue what he's talking about. How he keeps getting paid to be on sky is an insult.

There are hundreds of podcasters and YouTube football commentators who are decades ahead of this deadbeat.

He also said that the Toon have so much money that they wouldn't sell,he was doing a comparison with the Ajax player.

I think the general point he was making is that Anthony for that price represents a huge risk when proven players like ASM could possibly be bought for less.

He has no credibility as a pundit as he can’t even distinguish between Fabinho and Firmino never mind more challenging names…
