    5 years of spending, eek!

Have we been blinded by the spending? Most of the players, looking back throughout NSWE reign, have not been up to it.

Bruce bought aging pros’ who came to work with their boots on, ready for the daffodils in spring.

Deano bought players to play out of position, where they still huff and puff today. I’m talking about Ollie. Cash, Konsa, Buendia, and Dougie. The less said about Targett the better, for me. His Keeper was an excellent shout. But then you have the expensive fees and/or wages of the ‘enigma’ signings; Bailey, Traore, Trez, Wesley, Samatta, Jota, Baston, Drinkwater, Barcley, and Engles.

And now, this fella. I worry about Digne, but I feel he’s an upgrade. Coutinho was an exciting buy, for a good team. Kamara is superb but on his own. Carlos? Chambers has been solid.

So that’s it, overpriced and overpaid mediocracy. We don’t have, and never did have, the players for Europe. Sadly, neither did we have the managers.

    What to do?

P.S. We had a team who couldn't create chances, so we then pay 30m for an out-and-out striker, who thrived on service. No logic signing.

Well, word has it, Gerrard has no money to spend / Waste as he will be sacked after the City game. Owners have fallen out of love with him, Poch has been singled out and is the reason for our interest in two Fringe players from Spurs, they will be his signing. In the meantime Gerrard can only buy loan players and that's why we are struggling!

Except for the 13m for Dendonker from the dogheads.
