    Livingston (A) 31st Aug

    Match Thread-
This is now potentially a massive, season decider! This, for me, is the game that will tell us if JR is staying or going and will also tell us about the mentality of our players. The Celtic game was an absolute humiliation and MUST result in a hell of a performance if we are going to turn this season around. These players owe the fans a massive performance and anything less than 100% from any if them, would be a slap in the face to our support. Personally, I have seen no signs that would give me any hope of getting a performance outta this group of players. We should be capable of winning this 2-0 but everything is pointing towards a 3-0 reverse and the wheels coming flying off. How the hell have we managed to go from Europa League to Pub League in the space of a month is incredible! Thoughts go out to the brave souls that are attending this match!

I am actually tempted to head through for this, but then i remember the last time i was there and see no difference to leaving there with a defeat! So i will second what weegie said and thoughts to all that do attend!

As for the team, i really dont see us changing shape, and i think whoever gets on the pitch will be so devoid of confidence that we will be lucky to avoid a 3-0 defeat.

    Clark,
    Freeman, Edwards, Mulgrew, Graham,
    Smith, Sibbald, Levitt, Middleton,
    Clark, Fletcher.

Wishful thinking on the keeper, but i can see that team playing well from the off, having a couple of chances, then MIA for a 4 or 5 nil drubbing!

    Then its Motherwell i think!

Sibbald simply has to play, the closest we have to any sort of dig in midfield. How this has not been addressed is beyond me. The local girls U12 team has a more resilient midfield than us.

That is bizarre, certainly no Jim McInally, but he is closest we have to a win the ball and retain it in the ilk of dare I mention his name - Mark Macbeth Kerr, and clearly a Ross signing, but seems to have been bombed out the team. I really thought against St Mirren the manager would just go back to basics and pick as close to the Alkmaar home team with may a tweak up front. sibbald surely start on account of fact he is used to the pitch if nothing else, don't even think Ross knows who his best team is now.

Even if we get an improved performance, the worry is the minute we flog a goal or the keeper chucks one the heads will just go down and we will collapse, oh and we don't score goals.

    Massive match

Apart from anything else the cups are very important for us - as we aren’t winning the league

4-2-3-1 to make us left soft in the centre of park

    Erikson
Freeman Mulgrew Edwards - who knows at left back the options are terrible
    L Smith Sibbald
    Middleton Levitt Niskanen
    Fletcher

Really hope we can put on a performance and get through to next round

    Come on United !!

Eriksson?? My god, as someone who stayed to the end and watched him closely, he should not play another game for us, not happy with Birighitti's social media 'like' but for this week get him back in the team

Was about to say we should not write this off as only two games from Hampden but seeing Eriksson name stopped me in my tracks

Scary times if he is the preferred choice

How many would birighitti have saved yesterday? I don’t intend watching goals back but at time I didn’t think any were down to his clangers. Birighitti might be the longer term bet but at the moment it feels a bit like choosing between monkey pox or covid.

    Way over dramatic as per!

Remember back in 2015/16? 2 horrendous keepers. Fast forward to now and we have 2 relatively similar options, and while i want a third option, i think Eriksson is the one to rise above this sh!tshow, just like when Ben(ji) took over from Towin-a-van!
