For those avid Genesis fans like me, this concert was a “ must go” night out.
The evening was split into two parts- 1st half was music from Hacketts solo albums. The second part( and much more enjoyable) was devoted to a classic Genesis album- Foxtrot. The tour was actually called Foxtrot at 50. 50 years since the album came out. It was pretty clear what the full concert goers had come to see and the band did an excellent job , reproducing the whole album in its entirety. Throw in Firth Of Fifth , from the Selling England album ,and a medley of other Genesis songs ,to finish off the evening and that was it. It was great to turn the clock back to this album , when the original band were on the way up and about to hit the big time. Steve Hackett and his band did a great job helping to create those days when vinyl on your turntable was the only way to listen to classic albums like this one. Genesis fans will know what I mean.
