    Blood Pressure?

Does anyone know a decent blood pressure for someone of nearly 61?

I had mine done at the doctors ten days ago and I was very stressed as I hate having mine taken and I was 190/85 and was told it was high.

They gave me a machine to do it myself at home and I’ve been around 120-135/75 to 80.

    Any ideas?

    Dubs???

Used to know all this stuff but just double checked and according to nhs website, 120/80 is considered normal. Anything above 140/90 is high and below 90/60 low. For a 60 year old man, you would obviously expect blood pressure to be higher than a 30 year old but 190/85 is certainly too high (if not an error). Your current readings seem ok though based on this.

Personally I wouldn't consider your reading to be that high. I always found my BP was abnormally high whenever I went to the Docs. It was always lower at home so they gave me a machine to monitor it over 24hrs and sure enough BP was fine. White coat syndrome I think they call it

    Mine comes in around 120/80.
I am 58. But for a fit person around your age carrying no extra weight etcetra....thats good.
Watch when you take your BP. Make sure you have been under no exertions for a half hour before hand.
The first reading was high at the dr.
If possible, try and take the BP at the same time in the day....but only if possible.
