    Blackburn Post Match Thoughts

Putting this up early as in transit but not looking good after 72 minutes.

Thoughts on the shuffling of the pack and today's game?

No great disgrace IMO. We more than matched them until they went 2-0 up. They had the class to finish where we created chances but couldn't put them away. Hall needlessly gave away the penalty - Peltier was coming over to cover. We looked much better with a big man up front and to be fair, Eaves did reasonably well. However, I can't understand why he wasn't replaced by Kelly. With no big man up front, we were back to long punts that no-one was going to win.

First half we looked like we'd got our mojo back and we'll come up against lesser teams who we should be able to get points off. However, we must have either Eaves or Kelly on the pitch if we're going to stand any chance.

Heading towards the usual position in the Championship unfortunately.

    Still at least Derby lost.

Long hard winter ahead where do you start?
Not scored in open play for 4 games not sure what the answer is Matt Taylor must wonder what he’s taken on and fair play to him for that only thing we can hope is we can cobble enough points between now and January and get a couple of strikers in who are a cheap b know how to score a goal c want to come to another relegation scrap let’s not kid ourselves that’s what it’s going to be
Sorry to be gloom and doom but can’t find any positives only thing is I genuinely don’t think the standard in this division is as good as previous visits apart from the usual suspects Norwich Blades etc thing that concerns me is January is notorious for being quiet business wise compared to the main summer window
Again apologies for sounding negative can anyone cheer me up? 😃

First half we matched them. Two decent chances for the lump but lacked confidence infront of goal. Wiles unlucky from distance and Rathbone had a few strikes from distance one of which had the keeper scrambling it behind. Set pieces were terrible again. Definitely a pen with Hall resoring to wrestling moves to stop opposing players.
Blackburn commentary team on ifollow were full of praise for how we played first half and were honest enough to say their keeper had been the busier of the two. They also thought if we kept giving the ball to Chieo and him isolating Ayala the could have been in trouble.
2nd half we seemed to start tiring and the stray passes started creeping in.
Their 2nd goal knocked the stuffing out of us but again the Blackburn commentary team said we have enough to give it a good go at this level this time.
Kelly overlooked again but having said that there were no crosses going into the box for anyone to get on the end of.
My lad has been today and he thought a few of our players just don't look interested anymore. He thinks Wiles, Chieo and Barlaser will be off in January and to be honest who would blame them.
I'm flummoxed as to how we've gone from a team that was playing nice football to a bunch of players who at times are going through the motions.
Hopefully we can pick up a result at home to Udders next Saturday.
    UTM.

Thought we played well 1st half, some good through balls from Barlaser and Wiles much improved. But what happened in 2nd half? We were a different team, couldn’t see us scoring at all. Trying not to worry. Same team we started the season with so well. UTM!!

No sorry mate. On the evidence of our last 3 games & without investment in January we will still be the yo yo team.As soon has Blackburn went up a gear we had no answer.

We’ve frequently said this season ‘We’d have lost that last time round in this league” or “We’d not have held on to that lead”.

I felt this game that we looked like that side from two years ago with often pedestrian attacking stances and a fragile defence. Blackburn were decent in the second half but nothing really special. We, on the other hand we’re devoid of ideas and lacking any bite. Better in the first half but mainly because Blackburn were still sorting us out.

I think we can do better and I’m hoping Taylor can find the key that brings back the resolve and determination we seemed to be infused with in the first few games…

I haven't been but seen enough this season to say 3 or 4 of our signings this season aren't what Warney said he'd bring in better than what we had. Humphreys Bramall High Eaves the 4. MT is intelligent enough to see this but what can you do you can't say to these players 3 months before you can bring anymore players in you haven't got a future with us, also 3 who are under contract with us won't be that easy to move on. Huddersfield at NYS next need 3 points from that game.
