Harry Kane - One Love Armband

Can’t these p ricks focus on football when in Qatar rather then stupid armbands like Kane’s One Love and Southgate preaching about taking the knee bollox!

Who do the English and Welsh players think they are by preaching to another country anyway with strict rules. If they don’t like the rules of that country then don’t get on the plane.

Should countries like Qatar and Iran when coming to England preach about alcoholics and all the obese people who live here?

One Love - for f uck sake! Thought rainbow laces was bad enough!

I agree but there is one other thing about Kane that irritates me and that is the silly little jump he always does after scoring. Sorry but it does.

    And me Q........pointless gay celebration.

Either celebrate properly like Mick Channon used to do or do what I used to do and don’t celebrate at all.

There’s something really satisfying about scoring and then just walking back to the centre circle with a “job done” attitude.

I was always relieved when I scored, I set myself a target of at least a goal every two matches when I played up front which I managed.......just pure relief to bag one.

Nothing wrong in protesting against such a regime but it's all pretty empty rhetoric and agree it smacks of virtue signalling. If they really wanted to make the point then they should have simply refused to play there but football at that level is all money driven -and Qatar has loads of that (well, some of them do).

As for criticising other people's cultures, I believe that there is nothing wrong in (respectfully) challenging that at all and you should be able to do so as free speech is all about encouraging open debate about things. The problem is that many of the countries you might criticise -especially around human rights-tend to have authoritarian regimes where there is no real free speech.

Still, I'm sure the authorities in Qatar will be on their best behaviour and keen that no incidents of gay bashing or the deaths of poorly paid migrant construction workers are reported for the duration.

My favourite goal celebration was by Dennis Law one of my all time favourite players. he just stood there with his one arm raised and took the congrats from his team mates. I suppose in these days of woke bo**ox the snowflakes would say he was doing a Nazi salute and get him banned for life. To**ers.
