    Player ratings Vs Coalville

Young 4- Not sure he was at fault for any goals so possibly an unfair score. However, 3 shots and 3 goals.
Brindley 4- Lazy header gifted them possession to score the first goal
Rawlinson 4- Gave the ball away often
Mahovo 5- Goes up a point for being young. Showed some neat touches but was possibly at fault for the second goal.
TAR 6- Did ok, beat his man often and put in a nice cross for the first goal.
Taylor 5- also did ok but nowhere near match fit. Chicksen runs another 20 yards when he’s playing, to get in at the back post. Taylor never went in the box.
Francis 2- I want to believe there’s a player in him but he continues to disappoint. Awful today. Passing was woeful, weak in the tackle, never won a header.
Castro 2- Another awful display. Dwelling on the ball and attempting passes that aren’t on.
Austin 7- only player that could leave the pitch having done his job. 2 goals, showed for the ball, worked hard, closed down.
Mitchell 1- scoring him 1 suggests he did something to earn a point but he didn’t. At 6’4 he should have been a menace today. We put so many crosses in but he just doesn’t attack the right areas. I’d need to see if again but it looked like he bottled going for a cross in the first half. Not once did he hold the ball up.
Palmer 7- instantly showed his class, moving the ball quick and breaking up play.
Ruben 6- tried to influence the game but struggled
Langstaff 6- hardly touched the ball during his 20 mins.

I’m not angry about the result or the team selection. It’s 100% about the league for me this season.
However it’s a worry that most of our fringe players had a chance to show the manager they deserve game time, and failed miserably.

Thanks for that KTD. Spent the afternoon enjoying time with my granddaughter so only kept in touch with the game via FlashScore and this forum. So I score a 3 as this was a much below par effort on my part.

With the quality of our support players it seems like we are only a couple of injuries away from potentially losing our hard earned first place in the league. Automatic promotion is a more achievable aspiration, with this first eleven squad and manager, than at any stage since our fall from the football league. From KTD’s comments it sounds like Sam is the right goalie for the league games and Austin continues to impress and is clearly an important part of the set up. Should Taylor and TAR also step up to the plate, and when JOB (& Baldwin?) return from injury I would like to think that we have the nucleus for a team who can get the job done in the league. I have been surprised by the recent down turn in form of Chesterfield and Solihull as I thought they would both be genuine contenders for top spot. Obviously these may just be downward blips in their respective seasons of the type which will affect all teams. However I anticipate that Wrexham will continue to overpower opponents so Notts must keep winning and I trust that we will see a return to normal service with a confident win over Maidenhead on Friday. Win this league and days like yesterday will be forgotten and results, such as Dorking, regarded as our dips in the level of performance.

Apart from Austin and the substitutes, i dont think any of them deserved marks above 3. As for Castro I would end his loan forthwith and send Mitchell off to Basford, and Recall Mukandaffa in his place.

Adebayo-Rowling has some rough edges that need smoothing, but he's definitely shown the ability to create goals in the games against Altrincham and Coalville. He's got a nice little burst of pace over a short distance that can beat an opposing full-back, and he can put the ball in the right areas, which are attacking qualities DKE didn't offer in the wing-back position even though I liked Dion as a team player. Nemane has impressed this season and is ahead of TAR in the pecking order for now, but I see enough in Tobi to think he could do a job when we need him.

Francis and Mitchell were the biggest disappointments for me. Francis seemed to be playing the Burchnall style of safe passes sideways and backwards, and his touch was poor. Mitchell just didn't do anything.

Apologies. Game on Friday is against Maidstone, not Maidenhead, but same sentiment applies in hoping for a good win for Notts.

I’m not sure why we’ve loaned Brad Young if he’s an inferior version of Slocombe, I’d be surprised if, like Patterson, we couldn’t get someone who’s an upgrade.

Despite yesterday’s result I think most of yesterday’s team are good players who can and have done a job in the first team. Maybe just not all at once though.

The Player Ratings threads are really out of favour at present. I thought the game and result would get plenty of scores from those in attendance

Out of interest, how many times have you posted player ratings?

It's a game I want to forget, but I like to give an opinion for others so here we go:

Young 5 - no real saves to make, but he was let down by his defence.
Brindley 5 - didn't do a lot going forward, looked dodgy when they ran at him.
Rawlinson 5 - not much defending to do, but still let them score three.
Mahovo 4.5 - looked comfortable on the ball, but his positioning for their first two was woeful.
TAR 6 - had the pace to beat his full back, crossing was a bit mixed.
Taylor 5 - a few good moments, but his instinct is always a backwards pass rather than the forward pass we needed.
Francis 3.5 - saw a lot of the ball, but did very little with it. Always a safe pass over an incisive pass.
Bajrami 6 - tried to create a few attacks, and did his job defensively.
Castro 3 - I rarely give a mark this low, but Castro earned it. A pathetic, gutless performance.
Austin 7* - not only movement, but two good finishes. The only candidate for MOM.
Mitchell 3 - Did nothing to deserve a higher mark against tier 7 defenders. They coped with him easily.

Palmer 7 - added impetus and showed just what we had been lacking.
Ruben 5 - disappointing, not a lot worked and two tame headers from decent positions.
Langstaff 5 - too little too late.

A really bad day. I was in favour of utilising the fringe players, but they let the head coach down big time. It might prove to be a blessing in disguise if we achieve our ultimate aim, but at the moment it's another very low point for me.

I forgot Bajrami in my ratings. I agree with a 6.
