    Tarko for England ?

I've read a couple of articles recently, discussing England's problematic CB position. Many and varied were the names suggested as options for Gareth to consider, including the name of one player I'd never even heard of, but nowhere in either piece could I find the name Tarkowski, it was as if he'd become the invisible man, and just vanished off the face of the earth.

Then last night he was back, after another excellent display for Everton, the muppets on MOTD were suggesting him as someone Gareth would have to consider, especially given the understanding he'd built up with Coady. But chief Muppet Keown wasn't having it, he didn't think Gareth would go with him, and the reason, a lack of pace. Now Tarko may not be the fastest gun in the West, but the name Keown came up with next as an alternative, had me almost falling off the settee, Eric Dier.

I've seen oil tankers turn quicker than Eric, and if there was a 20 yard sprint race between Tarko and Eric, I know who my money would be on, and it wouldn't be the lumbering carthorse from N. London. Still never mind, Tarko, it seems, is back on the England radar, as he should be, but nevertheless, I do sadly think Keown has got it right, for whatever reason, Gareth won't pick him.

I'm rather prone to a certain Burnley bias as you are well aware mon ami, but I don't really know what Tarkowski did wrong when he played for England.

I reckon with half a dozen international games under his belt Tarks would have become automatic first choice. It certainly is no coincidence Everton are not conceding in the same way they did last season. Him and Coady look the real deal to me.
