Harrogate Town away, Tuesday 8th November

Three of our five defeats this season have been away on a Tuesday evening, Shrewsbury Town, Stockport County and Barrow. Our record at Harrogate Town is not good at all. They will be gagging for it after that FA Cup win at Bradford City in the FA Cup.

Nevertheless, our much weakened squad at Tranmere Rovers and the even further weakened squad in the FA Cup match coped in a satisfactory manner. Two of the unavailable players from Saturday will be available for this Harrogate Town match.

On Tuesday 8th November there are 5 League Two fixtures.
2 of them do not substantially immediately interest us.

    3 of them are interesting.
Harrogate Town v Carlisle United (7th)
    Mansfield Town (9th) v Bradford City (6th)
    Rochdale v Salford City (8th)

The 4 teams that are 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th play in these
matches. All 4 teams are on 27 points.

    Goal difference
    Bradford City +8
    Carlisle United +7
    Salford City +6
    Mansfield Town +4

Carlisle United win at Harrogate Town.
    Rochdale kick Salford City arse.
Mansfield Town draw with Bradford City, each team uses an unregistered player and both teams get a point deducted.

The drive to and from Stockport knackered me so no more mid week away games for me. Good decision if weather is like last night on the drive down from Edinburgh airport. Paul has an interesting selection problem tonight but I suspect that Sho Silva will be a used sub and Finn will come back in perhaps to replace Mellish. We should be able to win this one but lets see.

If Bradford, Carlisle and Salford win then Swindon drop from 5th to 8th.

If Mansfield win by 2 goals, Carlisle and Salford win then Swindon drop from 5th to 8th.

If either of the above occurred 8th place would be 2 points behind 3rd place.

We are very open in midfield and Whelan must be taken off at half time as simply he is not good enough. All the Mellish critics may finally understand what Jon brings to our game. Harrogate bossing the game with some good flowing moves, but we have to thank Charters for a marvellous goal.

Did Kristian Dennis go to Bettys for a cream tea before the match?

Way off the pace first half.

    Maybe not fully fit.

Hopefully this post wiill prompt him into action in the second half.
