    Chorley Pitch Inspection 4PM

Following continued extremely cold weather, a pitch inspection has been arranged for 4pm today ahead of Saturday’s ISUZU FA Trophy third-round match against Chorley.

Temperatures have dipped below -6 degrees at Meadow Lane for two consecutive nights and there is now a significant surface frost, despite the pitch being re-covered immediately after full-time against Gateshead on Tuesday.

With cold weather continuing into tomorrow, there is serious concern that the pitch won’t be playable and both clubs, along with the match referee, have agreed that an early inspection is sensible.

In the event of a postponement, competition rules dictate that the match must be played next Tuesday – meaning our Vanarama National League home match against Barnet would need to be rearranged in the new year.

We will provide a further update following this afternoon’s inspection.
