Key Moment of the season-half time at Sunderland

After our previous game at Birmingham on October 19 which we drew 1-1 we were third in the table with 26 points, a point behind QPR and Blackburn. Our record stood at P15 W6 D8 L1 F25 A13 GD12. After the first 45 minutes at the Stadium of Light we went in 2-0 down and seemingly headed for defeat. I wonder what was said in that dressing room. Whatever was said we came out in the second half and ripped into the Black Cats scoring four goals. It kick started a remarkable run in which we have won 12 out of 13 league games scoring 30 goals and conceding just 13 (and 5 of those were at Bramall Lane in our solitary loss during this barnstorming run of victories). I can hardly visualise such a total dip in form that we fail to go on to win promotion. If we were going to falter it would surely have been on Friday night against a physical West Brom who were on an impressive run themselves. We now head to Portman Round for an FA Cup 4th Round tie. I am sure VK will want to progress as far as possible in the Cup until we meet another of what he has termed “the big dogs”.

A seminal moment for sure Sir Outwood. About 3000 of us gathered in the Sunderland away end and I kid you not, actually booed the lads off at half time.

Annas Zaroury stepped up to the plate and showed us what a remarkable talent VK bought for not much money.

Benson, Brownhill and THB looked to be elite EPL performers and the Black Cats took a second half leathering.

I can assure you the team did not get booed off after the final whistle.

I never thought I would see a Burnley team emulate the one SD formed when we last won the Championship, but I genuinely think VK has.

I'm just running my eye over the Mackems and Smoggies derby game, I kid you not, the Black Cats average age looks to be about 14.

I hope they have not moved it Sir Outwood because me and Mrs BT are off there on Friday to enjoy a "FA Cup Weekend".

You could spend the week down there mon ami, save the long trek down to Norwich for the League game. Incidentally, although it looks further, I found Ipswich easier to get to than Norwich, dual carriageway all the way to Ipswich, it isn't to Norwich.

We had that in mind mon ami, but the wife got an "emergency" appointment at the hospital for Monday morning, so we are shooting back up on Sunday afternoon.
