National League Playoffs

With the National League Playoff System being different from the EFL system, do you think it gives teams that finish higher up in the table a better advantage compared to that of the EFL?

Is progressing to a 1 legged home semi-final for finishing 2nd / 3rd actually better then playing a 2 legged semi-final game?

I used to think National League System was great by giving the stronger teams a deserved advantage. But thinking about it now I reckon it nullifies a teams strength by reducing the semi-final to a 'any thing can happen' game.

A 2 legged game lets the stronger team have a bad game and come back in the 2nd leg.

Surely the stronger team having a bad day at home is tough s**t really. They already have the advantage of not having the extra game and also the advantage of a home game in the semi. I kinda like the NL way of play offs as it means finishing 2nd or 3rd is something to aim for.

That's the trouble in play off games , as in they're one-off games. Its like we have been brilliant this season, but who would have thought we would have lost to Dorking, if that was a play off we are out

Well so be it and it'd be well done to Dorking for being the better team on the day. As it was to Harrogate in the final a few years back. We didn't turn up and we got beat square and fair. As I said we'd already have had 2 advantages why a 3rd??

In the last four play offs, I think Harrogate were the only team that beat us fair and square (mainly because we had no answer for the high press at that time) , the others esp. Coventry all had some debatable decisions and turning points in the games

I do not agree that we get 2 advantages, personally I think the team finishing lower get advantage, and more likely than not, the referee will make the game changing decision if the game is close.

Still the current system exists, so we have to play it to the best of our ability
