Watford Fc players are not happy, after they had a reduction of up to £300
each out of last months wages.
The money taken out of the players wages without prior warning, the club
saying the money was taken as a contribution, for the food they eat at the
training ground.

Last I heard, here in the US Major League Baseball must have one of the strangest 'allowances' for food as part of the player's union's negotiated settlement. Despite many of the players being on multi million dollar contracts (some as big as $30M/year) and having free access to food 'banquets' both pre and post games, when they are on a road trip (often 6-10 days at a time) they have a cash allowance of around $25/day for food and this is given out to them in cash, in envelopes, at the start of the trip. A bit like when I was a kid and we used to go on the WMC trips
