    From Depressed to Impressed

Just back home after a 5 hour drive following the sponsors day today at Meadow Lane. Last night I was feeling really down and wondering how LW would be able to pick the boys up after Monday.
Let me tell you we have no worries. The training was sharp, entertaining and obviously fun for the participants. They were all buzzing and there was certainly no evidence of a hangover from the Wrexham game. LW gave us a real intelligent, informative and passionate talk pitchside, I’ll remember that for a long time.
After training we had lunch with the players and staff, to a man they were fantastic, they all reflected the passion, drive and discipline that LW has instilled into the team.
I sat with Chicksen, Baldwin and Austin. They were polite, humble, approachable and engaging just like the manager.
I said in last nights post that it would be surprising if LW could lift my spirits…..he did it effortlessly.

I have renewed enthusiasm for the playoffs, what a difference a day makes.

Not that surprised, given all that we've seen of LW and This Notts, but kinda surprised given the last couple of weeks they've been through.

We need some good news right now, and this [standard of] business as usual, works for me. Tx for posting.

I'm still looking forward to Notts being crowned champions on GD on the last day when Langstaff's 47th goal of the season goes in in the 97th minute. Until that's mathematically out of reach I won't be thinking play-offs. Hopefully the players will be thinking the same way and aiming to win every game to maximise our chances if Wrectum do slip up. Their arrogance and the media circus around them currently might just make it happen. For example, to look at the coverage from the Wrectum side since Monday's match you'd actually think they won the title that day. They didn't.

By the way this isn't a prediction, before everyone starts slagging it off, it's simply my version of realism. In football, while ever it's REALLY mathematically possible it is still REALLY possible.

I'm with you Swale, a lot can still happen and Wrexham's fixtures are no walk in the park with all their opponents having something to play for.
I too find them increasingly arrogant although during the Munto season I said some outrageously cocky things.
Of course all Notts fans would love to see their balloon deflated and certainly stranger things have happened in football before.
OK I'm just going upstairs to take my Paul Mullin poster off the bedroom wall. The dart holes are getting pretty bad.

Agreed, I'm with Swale on this one as well. Until it's mathematically impossible, well it's still possible. Even the sun shines on a dog's ar5e some days.

What a fantastic read. I haven't seen it first hand but I'm not surprised at all by LWs man management skills. We've won far too many games this season for confidence to be an issue.

Cheers Jock. Your advices regarding the spirit of the team, after recent events, are just the tonic we all need going into the play offs.
