    New Shirt Sponsor

New York based US Mobile for the remainder of the season and next .

Apparently our biggest financial deal regarding shirt sponsorship .

Hope it goes better than the last biggest shirt sponsorship deal of it's kind in our history eh Khaled .

After the Hex Crypto debacle on sponsorship Ahmad has limped along with short term/ few weeks deals on sponsors and tried to spin it as part of the Reds Together carry on. He has now delegated Revenue Officer Flatman to sort out this new deal.

The Arsenal supporting CEO of the new to the market New York communications company "US Mobile", Ahmed Khattak, has begun the usual American cringeworthy PR Tweets with ".....go get that promotion. Captain America is with you". It brings back memories of Conway's "Go Barnsley !" in Times Square lights.
The Barnsley shirts will have an embarrassing American Eagle logo, big and brash. At first glance its size looks to breach FA Regulations as with the Hex Logo. This must have been pointed out to Khattak as he has now tweeted a spin on the possible need to reduce the logo saying "Happy to reduce the size of the logo next season ! If that's what the fans want". Some of our more gullible fans have responded along the lines of What a great guy, doing that for us fans--you couldn't make it up.

My view, for what its worth, is that it looks bloody awful--reminds me of a Trump rally, a brash big car logo and, worst of all the German Third Reich symbol. The Barnsley players doing the PR photo shoot look sheepish as the do a Peter Kay "I'm on the phone/ phone me" gesture with their hands.

The New York start-up finance connection with this new company in a big established market competing with global companies set alarm bells ringing with me regarding any links to New York Hedge Fund managers over there that may be already linked to Barnsley FC. This new company is looking for cheap brand awareness opportunities to try to break into the UK market.

It does not make clear in any way what the deal is worth to Barnsley FC but it could well be the best thing since sliced bread. It could be that over the next few years US Mobile pour millions into the club as they build a global empire which propels BFC into the Premiership and the new US Mobile West Stand is built using Ahmed Khattak's wealth.

All about the money and I suppose we are in no position to pick and choose which seemed to be the case with HEX.COM .

At least this seems to be a normal business by comparison even if it is New York based .

Why don"t we see how it goes before we judge ? , what ever your thoughts are we need sponsors & the club have come up with new ones , it might turn out to be a winner & it might be a flop but I believe time will tell & lets leave it at that . It has been mentioned that the size of the emblem might be a problem well I watched the Middlesboro match last night & their Bet 365 logo appears to take half their shirt up ,not that it personally bothers me , I rarely take any notice of what is on someone"s shirt I am more bothered about the football which incidentally was a very entertaining encounter for a neutral .

    Those were my thoughts Shads.

Hence the reason to balance my response with a very positive final paragraph.

The only "judgement" I have made is on the appearance of the logo and the introductory PR spin, which doesn't require six months to think about.
