Lots of reports - strong linking us to Raphina from BCN

He is exactly the mould of an EH player. High pressure, intense player.

He also creates from open play. Will be electric to see him play with Isak pace power, closing down. These two empty the tank then we can bring on Miggy or Murphy to see out the game.

If ASM stays &/or we get Diaby, with Gordon in the mix as well. That is a frightening prospect of pace and power across the front line. Throw in another top top striker Either an Osimhen (not likely) or an Ekiteke type (I'd still take the lad, he was badly advised to go to PSG, young ambitious lad, seen it a million times) to add to the front line ranks!

Maddisons, JWP (maybe), A DMF - take your pick / Rice ideally but not gonna happen. We need 2 or 3 top quality players to compete with Bruno, Longstaff, Willock & Joelinton to have a midfield that can compete across all competitions next season at our level of intensity.

Left back we need someone to compete with Targett. I don't buy all this BS that Matty has suddenly dropped off and isn't that consistant 7-8 out of 10 player he was/has always been. Howe has made it clear that he doesn't change his back 4. Burn came in when Matty was injured and has been excellent. Matty will get his chance once again I have no doubt and he will put up the 7-8/10 numbers he always does.

However saying that we need another option like we do on the right. Seen us linked with a few people I don't know much about. So over to you bodz to comment on who we should bring in for LB.

    what wages is he on?

if its anything over Bruno's wages then its a non starter. Bruno will get a new contract matching the highest earner but i suspect Raphina is on at least 250k a week, we will not go that far.

What is the point of bringing in Dan Ashworth, who is fantastic at finding young gems with huge sell on potential, waiting for him for 9 months to spend retarded money and wages on already known superstars who are being moved on from their current clubs?

krafth was beginning to show signs of an Eddie Howe transformation before that bastard Tranmere clogger knacked him so once he's back up and running it solves a cover problem at RB. However, much as Burn and Targett beffore him have done very well, I'd like us to be in the market for a first choice LB

I know the argument that Burn is part of the meanest defence in the league-but-a specialist LB would still offer defensive strength whilst being able to offer more than Burn does going forward. And although Targett is decent...I think we need better to progress.

I totally get your point but one thing.

Dan Ashworth, Eddie Howe et al have never been in the champions league before.

Whilst I'm 100 that Ashworth will scout & sign absolute gems for the future who will go into our development structure, the reality is that the UCL requires to quality players.

We won't be successful in the accelerated time frame Eddie's brilliance has got us in with just one strategy. That's fine for a Brighton, anything is a bonus for them.

We will require a tool box off different strategies. All quality squad have a mixture of top players and developing potential worldies!

I'm buzzing to see it all play out, can't wait to hear champions league music back at SJP again next season.
