Horse Racing Bets

I was reading today about a bet called the ' Swinger ', which is operated
by the Tote.
Idea is to pick two of the first three past the post in any order, you don't
have to pick just two horses, you can have combinations.
If you want three horses in your £1 Swinger bet, that's £3, while four
costs £6.
Today was the 2,000 Guineas race at Newmarket, in it was Chaldean a
horse I backed last time out, which unseated the then jockey Frankie
Dettori, so I had to back it, so I thought join the Tote online, back my
horse & have a go at the Swinger bet, plus getting £20 in free bets for
joining the Tote website, after spending £5 on a bet.
so I put £5 each-way on Chaldean @ 6/1 - it won @ 7/2
Tote gave me a bit more back on my bet £44.30 instead of £42
So I tried the Swinger bet in the same race picking 3 horses in my bet
Chaldean - Royal Scotsman - Auguste Rodin @ £2 stake £6
I got 2 horses placed so received £26.67 for a £6 stake getting a bit
extra off the Tote.
Might try the 1,000 guineas race tomorrow with the Swinger bet.

Won £70 on lotto last night 14 fivers with free lucky dips had to be won jackpot wasn't so paid that.

Swinger sounds a fun bet but i won't have any sort of an account re. gambling. Don't follow flat racing be back into it when NH gets going proper usually 2nd Saturday in October at Chepstow.

Wife won a lucky dip + £5 last night Saturday, last Saturday she won £214 with 4 numbers,
Wednesday before that she won £30 with 3 numbers.

I cleared just under £300 on Grand National day, Drew £200 out & put into premium bonds.

Well done. I just tipped on here 2nd & 4th in national. Not had a bet on horses since 1st day of Cheltenham festival won £400 that day thought then why give it them back! Lotto my gamble now I want win something worth winning.

I used to try this swinger bet 20 years ago when It first come out.the trouble is with nanny goat pool betting is the percentage they take out of the pool.also with permutation betting you have to be measured with how many you put in.say if a lot of people have the same bet the payout is lower so you could be not get back what you may be expecting. the banker bet is sometimes the most lucrative part of this bet.but as with any exotic bet like this is a small stakes fun bet especially at the big meetings.

At one time I was really into racing, I used to get a racing paper every week called Racing Specialist.
I noted horses down, we went from our local pub, two coaches to Newcastle for the Northhumberland
Plate day, men only trip, I told everyone about a horse I was waiting for it was priced at 33/1, some
of the older men said more or less humbug.
The horse won at 33/1, I had 5 winners that day, a second & a non runner, won the placepot, I left
a bet for my wife to take up to Ladbrokes, she didn't take it, would not go in the bookies, would have
won £89,000 that day, in the 1970's.

Had the Swinger bet in the 1,000 guineas, got first 9/1 & second 6/4
Picked three horses, other horse back in the field, stake total £6 got £10.48 back.

Had £10 e-way on Saxon King, won at 5/1, but I took 11/2. With Coronation seems a likely bet for people.
