    £10k electric bill 🫣

Today my wife rang our energy provider with our meter readings.

Apparently we’ve been underpaying and we owe them £10k.

She gave them the gas meter reading and it’s the same reading as given months ago, the meter is faulty but nobody realised apparently.

So I’m just waiting to hear how much we’ve underpaid them by!

According to the lady at British Gas, it’s likely to be our two hybrid vehicles that are the main culprits.

That news had me reaching for my anti acid medication.

If the meter is faulty how do they come by that figure surely the only guide is how much you used in previous years over that period?

The £10k is for electricity……it’s the gas meter that hasn’t been working!

The real p I s s e r with the gas is that we’ve been incredibly meagre with usage this past winter and will have used a huge amount less than usual but they’ll probably assess it based on previous years volumes.

The solar expert said I didn’t have enough roof facing in a southerly direction Lloyd but I’m going to try someone else for an opinion.

Even if I have to strap a solar panel to my back!

Bloody hell, that is horrendous Mick.

Tell them you can afford £100 a month as it is not your fault if the meter was faulty.

I read somewhere that prices for energy are coming down again, but I will believe it when I see it

How long is the period of underpayment Mick? With this amount I guess it goes back to prior the price hike? In which case make sure they aren’t charging you for every unit at the higher rate..
Also we’re any meter readings taken at all?
