    Defensive Mid’s

Obviously Rice’s prospective wages are ruling him out, even if we did want to blow 100m on one player… but my target would be…

Onana from Everton. Great energy, a physical presence, and think he would fit in well, while not blowing the current wage structure.

Even if they don’t get relegated, Everton have got FFP concerns they need to address, so need to make something, and if they go down even more so.

Who else is a realistic target you reckon would be a good fit for the squad Eddie is building and could keep up with the intensity?

So are you thinking of Bruno in a more advanced position, Ian?

. Yeah, his passing and 1-2’s were too notch earlier in the season before injury and fatigue caught up, and I reckon he could be more attacking and still do a great job defensively when we don’t have possession.

Also think we need a player who can stand in for Bruno so we can rotate when he needs a rest or is injured/suspended.

If we go for him this Scoziobol (speling?) lad from Leipzig is an attacking mid.
The only 2 areas we don’t need to strengthen are CB and striker's (so long as we have some ‘ones for the future’ coming through).
RW, CM, LB and RB are the priorities.

So, Diaby, Scoziobol, Tierney, and ‘?’ should do it for the first teamers? I have s feeling we might go for Mctominay too, which noone will like, but Eddie’ll prove us all wrong!!!

I think we have to ignore the wage structure. We might not get champs league again for a few years. We need to make the most of it.

We don’t want to rule ourselves out for players like Rice (who I think is a little over rated btw) because other teams will offer more wages. There has to be a limit of course, but we can match most teams for wages.

I definitely want Bruno further forward.

I want a powerful DM who is very comfortable on the ball. A Casimero type perhaps. It’s such an important position. I’d buy two! We need quality backup.

Got to be some quality DMs around Europe.

I’m warning to the idea of McTominay, but only as a fringe backup player. I don’t want to hardly ever see him.

McTominay would be back up for Sean. I’d prefer Sean to be back up for someone even better.

Yeah, f**k McTominay… he’s not as good as Longstaff, and I don’t want to add to their coffers…. but I see Longstaff being as the player who is rotated in for a better class of defensive mid… and Longstaff would have a player to learn from in the squad… because that’s where I see him long term.

Never seen him play so I can't comment on him but we've apperently been in contact to say we're willing to meet the 60 million euro release clause.
