Transfer situation, how do the club manage it without destroying the squad.

    Goalkeepers
    Meslier, Robles, Klaesson

You'd think here Meslier will be gone, Klaesson is way too big of a risk so for me in this area you'd be hoping we can keep Robles and sign someone better or at the very least to compete with Robles for number one.

    Sell: Meslier
    Keep: Robles, Klaesson
    1 out, 1 in

    Left back
    Firpo, Hjelde, Dallas, Wober

For me here, Firpo is gone. Dallas is on the way back but I think we have to keep hold of Wober, he has only just joined, showed he has some fight and can play a range of positions so is essential for us then you just try add a left back if someone of good enough quality is available as a starter and that position is sorted.

    Sell: Firpo
    Keep: Dallas, Hjelde
    Try to keep: Wober
    1 out, 1 in

    Centre Back
Koch, Llorente, Cooper, Struijk, Cresswell, Wober,

I'd be looking here to keep the experience of Cooper, guy is a leader and ***** in this league then build around Cresswell and Wober as our starting centre backs. Koch and Llorente out the door, they aren't going to want to play Championship football and then hopefully retain Struijk as again he can fill in a range of positions. This is where not letting everyone leave pays dividends as if you can keep Wober and Struijk with Cooper and Cresswell + U23 lads, we are fine here.

    Sell: Koch, Llorente
    Keep: Cooper, Cresswell
    Try to Keep: Struijk, Wober
    2 out, 0 in.

    Right Back
    Ayling, Kristensen, Drameh.

Rasmus has intimated he wants to stay and I don't see big interest in him anyway so if you keep him, Ayling stays and then give Drameh the starting spot from game one you've got a solid base in that area. If Drameh then drops off you've got Ayling and Rasmus to come in or they can both fill in at centre back so again more options. If Drameh was to leave, I still wouldn't change much as the other two are definitely capable of this league and have the fight and bottle for it.

    0 out, 0 in.

    Defensive/ Regular Centre Midifled
Adams, Forshaw, Roca, Gray, Gyabi, Bate, Shackleton

For me this is a dangerous area for next year, Roca is gone almost certainly. Forshaw is a cripple and not reliable. Then you have Gray and Gyabi who have zero experience. Shackleton who couldn't hold down a place for Milwall and Bate who looked good at a much lower level. For me before you even start we need 2 new players in this area and that includes keeping Adams, he is under contract and to let him go would be catastrophic for our chances not necessarily because he is world class but because we have so few experience options in this area. I would be looking to use Gray and Gyabi as back ups, keep Forshaw if he can get through pre-season and then let Bate/Shackleton go out on loan or permanently for transfer fees. I get keeping Adams is a tough one but the club are going to have to be ruthless with some players, we can't just let anyone good leave and start all over again.

Sell: Roca, Bate/Shackleton (loan/sell if we add, if not we keep)
Keep: Forshaw (pre-season dependent), Gray, Gyabi
    Try to keep: Adams
    In: 2
    Out: 1

    Central Attacking Midfielders
    Aaronson, Greenwood, Gelhardt, Roberts

Really torn here, I'd like Aaronson to stay and prove a point but I also don't know if he has the bottle for EFL football. Gelhardt with a years experience will be a great return and Greenwood should be a good solid player at this level to rotate around not as a starter but someone who will get a lot of opportunities. For me if you let Aaronson leave you have to add someone with quality here to support those younger players.

    Sell: Roberts
    Keep: Gelhardt, Greenwood
    Unsure: Aaronson
    In: 1
    Out: 1

    Wingers
Harrison, Gnonto, Summerville, Costa, James, Poveda, Sinisterra

This for me is just like centre midfield an absolutely key area in which you can't just let anyone good leave just because they want to. So for me it goes something down this path:
Harrison- Gone, guy has given us his all and deserves to play PL football, no hard feelings.
Gnonto/Summerville: One leaves, one stays. Both cannot leave in the same window. Preferably Gnonto stays.
Costa/James: Sell Costa, keep James unless a good bid comes in
    Poveda: Gone, not good enough
Sinisterra: Make him stay, guy is injured anyway, unlikely he can do a medical so keep him with Willy or Crysencio and go full tilt at promotion.

If we can keep hold of at least 2 of Gnonto, Summerville, Sinisterra, James then we have a shot. You need probably 4 wingers in this league given the amount of games so letting too many go would be idiotic but if you can keep 3, then you use the likes of Rutter, Gelhardt, Joseph etc outwide when needed.

Sell: Harrison, Costa, Poveda + ONE of James, Sinisterra, Gnonto, Summerville
Try to keep: Gnonto and Sinisterra

    In: 0
    Out: 3

    Strikers
    Bamford, Rodrigo, Rutter, Perkins, Joseph

Firstly, I'd love Rodrigo to stay I think he has the fight, the desire and attitude to being leading force in us coming back up but I am also realistic that someone who just got back in the Spain squad in the tail end of the prime of his career isn't going to want to to do that in the EFL. I'd be happy genuinely with Joseph/Rutter/Perkins as out striking options, think Rutter has a lot to offer and Joseph as well. I'd like someone to be added in this area if possible but if the rest of the squad is right and not decimated I'd not be annoyed if Joseph/Rutter started as our striker. Bamford has to go, I can't keep watching this guy get injured then miss every chance he gets when he does play, done his best for us, time is up, cash in and hopefully a PL club takes a chance on him for a good fee.

    In: 1
    Out: 2

Sell: Bamford and Rodrigo (though I'd love to keep him)
    Keep: Rutter, Perkins and Joseph

    Starting 11, Ideal:
    GK: New signing
    RB: Drameh
    CB: Cresswell
    CB: Wober
    LB: New signing
    CM: Adams
    CM: Gyabi
    CAM: New signing
    LW: Gnonto
    ST: New signing- Gyokeres
    RW: Rutter

    Starting 11, realistic:
    GK: Robles
    RB: Ayling
    CB: Cresswell
    CB: Cooper
    LB: Hjelde
    CM: Forshaw
    CM: Gyabi
    CAM: Gelhardt
    RW: Rutter
    ST: Joseph
    LW: James

Like I said though keeping hold of Gnonto, Adams, Summerville, Sinisterra, Wober, Aaronson etc will be difficult but you don't have to keep them all we just can't afford to let them and the likes of Harrison, Rodrigo, Meslier, Struijk, Roca all leave as you then just set yourself up for guaranteed failure. We have to keep at least 4 of our stronger players, use the kids to build around then add 2/3 solid championship players up front, at left back and in midfield to give ourselves the best chance and then yes if after a year or even in January it doesn't look likely you let the rest leave once it is in the best interest of the club.

    Blimey. Talk about thorough!

I hope the club pays similar attention to detail.

Joel,it happened at Burnley last season everything pointed to us going down even further, after getting rid of loads of players ,but somehow a miracle happened and we acquired Kompany and somehow he brought in a lot of young unheard of young players and made them into a team. Goes to show its possible to do with the right manager and owners. Probably be swapping places with you next season though.😁

We just need to get cracking, on a whole manner of things. Squad needing its biggest shake up & reform for years, July pre season looming, would hope that 90% of incomings are in place, fit & ready for a tough 3-4 weeks, as this year it will be key, to the club making a strong and positive start.

First pre-season is against Scum in Oslo, on July 12th, less than four weeks away and only 9 days after the players (whoever is still with us) return for training (with/by who we obviously don't know).

So a newly relegated LUFC, with a manager who at best will have been in post for less than a fortnight, and a squad of players who don't know if they are coming or going, are to play one of our bitterest rivals, who lets not forget finished third in league we have just been relegated from.

Which genius thought that was a good idea, Mr Bell presumably ?

Prediction.....no changes (in or out) over and above the released list, before July

    Prediction......No manager/coach appointment before July
