    Reginald Bosenquet

I preferred the gravitas of the 70’s news reader like old Reginald.

Okay…..so he was usually p I s s e d whist reading the news but he never got caught doing anything lewd.

His dad invented the googley at cricket you know!?

People like him and Richard Baker and Sandy Gall were cut from quality cloth.

It went downhill as soon as Angela Rippon started showing her legs on Morcombe and Wise….the floodgates opened if you’ll pardon the analogy!

I don’t think that we can trust any of todays lot not to be naked from the waist down under the counter ( the blokes I mean! )

Oh for a bit of good old fashioned “black and white” 60’s news!

.....I imagine Lucrezia Millarini naked from the waist down every time I catch the early evening news

Reginald Bosenquet eh? That's a blast from the past! Wasn't he the one with a cat on his head or maybe it was a wig and I got confused because he once reported the story about some firemen who rescued this lady's cat from a tree, she invited them in for tea and when they left they inadvertently ran the poor cat over with their fire engine (we had proper news stories in those days). You mention Angela Rippon, but didn't he partner Anna Ford?

I've still not learnt how to post YouTube clips on here but for anyone interested Reggie also made a dance record called, oddly enough, "Dance with me". Pamela Stephenson also sang a lovely ode to him on Not The 9 O'clock News entitled "Oh, Bosenquet". Apparently he was only 53 when he died.

    Posting links is easy.

Tap on the link you want to share and below the clip you’ll see a “share” icon.

Tap on that icon just once.

Then write your post on here and then below what you’ve written tap the screen just once.

You’ll then see three options appear and you simply tap on the “paste” icon which then adds the link to your post.

Once you’ve done that you simply tap as usual on the black bar where it says “post quick reply” and you’re. done.

    Cheers Mick👍
I will give it another go using the Fire but might have to borrow a laptop to do otherwise as I know the kindle doesnt have all the options available that other devices have. Not helped by my poor tech savvy skills either though!

Selina Scott was my type in the 80’s but can imagine Mick was more Angela Rippon!
