    Ford Capri 3L Ghia

Same colour and year as mine.
I swopped mine for an Avenger and cash to take my girlfriend and now my wife on holiday to Greece.
Only intender to the Avenger for a couple months, then get something more sporting.
Ended up keeping it 18months,even had when we got married. Then I gave the Avenger to my wife's Dad who had it for another 5 years.

Just sold my Ford Capri 1600XL Mark 1 1973 model.

Got back the £20k I paid for it but lost £2k I spent on improvements.

Great nostalgia but a pain in the a r s e to drive and to look after sadly.

You feel so vulnerable compared to driving the cars of today.

I feel the same I look back with fond memories, but when I'm on these crowded motorways and see the MGB's etc that I have in the past.
Have thought I wouldn't feel safe in them now.

Exactly my point Lloyd, these cars are iconic but extremely flimsy in a crash scenario, especially a crash with a modem vehicle.

In the future when I can afford it, I’d like to buy a Mark 3 Ford Capri and retro fit it with either a hybrid or a pure electric engine.

For me it’s the shape that’s iconic.

Ford are launching a new Capri next year as an electric 4x4 vehicle with some design cues from the past, I might be tempted to go for one of them….. or swop my wife’s Evoke for one so that I get a double win! 🤣
