I persuaded myself to join the rest of the nutters swimming in that little bay underneath the priory in Tynecastle.

I've only just got the use back in my arms and legs and that Northeast swimming "adventure" was about 8 weeks ago now.

BT, that won't be the cold that has been affecting you, it will be what just happens to get into the sea up these parts. When you see all the dead crabs, lobsters, mussels, starfish, clams etc. that they literally shovelled up off the beaches earlier this year you would have thought twice about swimming in the sea.

Privatising the water industry certainly was not the best of ideas Supersub6. Raw untreated sewage pumped onto our forefronts is a bloody bad practice.

But the big performance related bonuses go on.

And it's not just your neck of the woods where this malevolence goes on...

It appears that they still haven't been able to determine exactly what caused all the mayhem, however, many locals thought that it was a combination of dredging various rivers, particularly the Tees which used to have ICI on its banks tied in with various unknowns, although the sewage aspect has not been mentioned.
