The heart is a lonely hunter

I watched this today on your recommendation and quite enjoyed it,it's strange but I thought that the main character didn't seem to have much of a role in the grand scheme of things with most of the stories are about what's going on around him,I liked Spiro(?) though and the actor played him well but there was no explanation as to why he had died, the same as the main characters death, there was no reason why he took his own life,I've seen Mick in other films with Clint Eastwood but she's obviously older in those, the black doctor was also played well but there was to many loose ends to make it a magnificent film but as I said I enjoyed it,its got 100% on Rotten Tomatoes so maybe it's me that's missing something

The author is interesting, Mc cullers or something like that. In her early life she got together with another writer, they took it in turns to work while the other wrote.

She wrote a best seller, this, first time and made a lot of money. The relationship broke up, she moved to new york and had same *** relationships. She then got back with her first partner, that broke up, and he shot himself.

The you tube version is doctered, shorter, there are more nasty things in there, bad racism and Singer trying to have a relationship with sondra locke.

The root of the story was about a crushing loneliness, singers life was about serving others, no one cared for him, he couldnt even get a game of chess. On the Carlisle board a bloke said something about needing cheering up, from a film, and in my perverted way suggested this.

This film depresses the hell out of me, because its real, not like the trash of today.

I would like to see the full version as I’m sure that there’s more to offer, now you’ve mentioned it I can see the loneliness of his life and like you say,he couldn’t even get a game of chess,I’m not sure that Mick knew how to play tbh and the drunk surely was backing out of games because he was a bragger,I can see him struggling with draughts never mind chess

I totally missed the relationship with the man in the hospital, was he a friend because they was both deaf mute or was there something more,I only mention this because if the author was homo***ual then maybe it was easy for her to give him homo***ual undertones in the book

It was all well acted but just to many loose ends, maybe the undoctored version will be better, the final scene is Mick saying that she loved him at his gravesite but there was no hint of this during the film,I liked that he tried to buy her friendship by playing music loud so that she could hear when she passed but she never asked him why a deaf man was playing music,it’s gives more questions than answers

I’ve looked into the authors life and it was sad reading, when she feel in love she fell in love and could easily be in love with several people at the same time, why do some genius’s lead tortured lives? It’s a thin line between genius and madness,I think that you got to crossing the line between the two to think out of the box, there was a band in the early 80’s who I loved called Sad Cafe, they named themselves after her novel Ballads from the Sade Cafe,I’m surprised that I didn’t pick up on that

It’s not good that you suggested watching that movie to somebody who was already feeling down because when your emotions reach rock bottom it’s hard to get back up,I haven’t checked but I think that it was bumble who mentioned feeling down and she’s a lovely person, never says a bad word about anyone and very well liked by all,I’m going to say a prayer for her on Sunday and I suggest that you do the same as punishment,a quick trip into confession wouldn’t go amiss either Frank

Oh, a female, i thought it was an odd request.

Yosemite Sam will do the trick, he has me in stitches. You cant be in love with several people, you could be obsessed, but not love, even that would be hard if more than one, sounds like immaturity to me. I thought youd given up on believing?

Whatever, when i go to a catholic confession ill flick the priest the bird, he wont mind as long as i put money in the box on the way out.

Theres only one ill take a knee to. The catholic church is as evil as it comes.

Given up on believing what, love or God?

We all have to face life's consequences one day Frank but maybe you should lighten your load before you meet your maker and make a visit to the confession box,my ex was as evil as they come and make my life a misery but she went into the confession box whenever she could, she was a nasty piece of work but she still went to church every week,it's something that I never understood butter wouldn't melt in her mouth on a Sunday morning at 10-45,maybe her and the priest was comparing notes or something, she reckoned that nuns was the devil's servents in disguise, maybe she was a nun in a former life?

You know what i mean. You have a way of judging people, that lightening my load makes me out to be a bad un. If i do visit a confessional, i will leave a note asking them to ring me to make an appointment, so they can confess their *****philia, there love of money, their hypoctitical stance on everything.

If you went to Somalia where kids are starving where is the aid tent with a flag with a cross over it? Or in the Ukraine where children are blown up?

There is the Vatican City, as rich as it comes, what do they do in there all day? Its accounting, humping, kids somewhere, extortion, business, politics, etc, its not getting their hands dirty somewhere.

Its a business. If jesus was here hed go there, like he did in jerusalem and the money changers.

Getting back to you, others can be a reflection of ourselves, that the badness your ex showed was a reflection of you.

    Stick that up your jacksy.

Was was that Micheal Jackson song....IM BAAAAAAD.

Bumble’s recently lost family members, including her daughter this year. You need to be more careful Frank.

That's terribly tragic to hear griff, she didn't mention what had happened and you have to read in-between the lines but news like that hits you hard,it's good that she's managing to get through it as best that she can and I will mention her in my prayers tomorrow,it doesn't matter if she's a believer or not because the prayer will be heard,it must be awful to see one of your offspring go before you do,my thoughts will be with her
