Thanks UTM for posting that. All very nostalgic, and did make life look so simple. In the closing shots, it was striking how much slimmer everyone looked than today's overweight specimen's, lack of exercise and poor diet me thinks.

See 27 minutes in, a film about Nottingham and the work of the City Council. Brief shots of fans outside the ground, both teams entering the field and Notts kicking off.
The film is dated 1976 but I'm quite sure the clips of Fword v Notts are from one of two fixtures played over the river in 1974 - either 03/Mar/1974 or 28/Dec/1974 - as Forest are wearing black socks. It could even be the County Cup clash that May but there seems to be too many fans there for it to be that competition, so it's probably one of the two league fixtures. Can anybody name all of the players running out of the tunnel?

Bomber Bradd third to emerge, ball in hand - could this be Hugh Johns' famous 89 th minute ,'It's Leslie Bradd !.'
Neddy Needham at the back and it could be Jon Cozens as sub.
No, definitely not the August 1975 clash as Fword were wearing red socks the day Bradd scored the late winner and their shirts had the big white collar flaps. The footage in this council film has to be one of the two 1974 fixtures,
I think it's most likely this line up from March 1974.
1. Eric McManus
2. Bill Brindley
3. Eddie Cliff
4. David McVay
5. David Needham
6. Brian Stubbs
7. Kevin Randall
8. Don Masson
9. Les Bradd
10. Eric Probert
11. Arthur Mann
Sub not used
If not then it's this one
December 1974
1. Eric McManus
2. Bill Brindley
3. Pedro Richards
4. Ian Bolton
5. David Needham
6. Brian Stubbs
7. Steve Carter *
8. Kevin Randall
9. Les Bradd
10. Eric Probert
11. Arthur Mann
Sub: Mick Vinter *
Looks like the sub running out last in the blue track suit and it's not Vinter.
Is that a real city
The Notts sub has a 'tache.I still reckon Cozens, but I never remember him mustachioed.
From the filthy R*dbacks I recognize,Druncan McKenzie,Winfield,Lyall,Bowyer,Martin and a less-rotund John Robertson. [ the camera lingered on them longer]
Fword line-ups were
March 1974
1. Jim Barron
2. Liam O'Kane
3. John Winfield
4. Sammy Chapman
5. Dave Serella
6. John Robertson
7. Duncan McKenzie
8. George Lyall
9. Neil Martin
10. Tommy Jackson
11. Ian Bowyer
Sub unknown
December 1974
1. John Middleton
2. Dave Serella
3. Liam O'Kane
4. Sammy Chapman
5. David Jones
6. Paul Richardson
7. Jim McIntosh *
8. Barry Butlin
9. Neil Martin
10. Ian Bowyer
11. George Lyall
Sub: Miah Dennehy *
So I think we can now say this is Sunday 3rd March 1974
It finished 0-0, Attendance :- 29,962
Can't 100% rule out the May 1974 County Cup clash but I very much doubt it's that.
Indeed - no McKenzie for them in the Dec. fixture.
And our sub remains unused and un-named.
The mystery sub cannot be Cozens, he played his last game for Notts in November 1972.
If it's somebody who played at least once in 1973/74 then it will be one from the list below, is it Ian Bolton?
1948 Jon Nixon 1970-01-10 (21) 1974-08-28 (26)
1953 Steve Carter 1972-02-12 (18) 1978-08-22 (25)
1953 Ian Bolton 1972-03-18 (18) 1977-05-07 (23)
1952 Ian Scanlon 1972-07-29 (20) 1977-10-25 (25)
1954 Mick Vinter 1972-08-12 (18) 1979-05-05 (24)
1953 Paul Dyer 1973-02-17 (20) 1974-01-26 (21)
1951 Ray O'Brien 1974-03-16 (22) 1983-03-26 (31)
You pull out the plum once again !
Notlob's the one.
