    Jordan Henderson

Used to think he was alright but his recent statements are making him sound like a bit of a k nob. So, he really supported LGBTQ+ rights by making the effort to wear rainbow laces because he has family and friends from within this community and now feels really "hurt" by their criticism of him for agreeing to play in Saudi. Honestly, they don't understand, it's not about the money at all, it's just about having the opportunity to "help develop the sport I love in another country" and he will still support LGBTQ+ by wearing rainbow laces there-oh, hang on a minute, no, he can't do that because, you know, you also have to respect their culture and religion so can't actually do that. Still, he feels very hurt by all this and will continue to support them (somehow) whilst in Saudi where he will help develop the sport. Given Saudi's well known equalities I'm sure there will be ample opportunity for Jordan to help develop grass roots football in the country and aid aspiring young players from all backgrounds.

Jordan Henderson may well, for all I know, give money towards various charities and he may do far more than just wear woke-ish rainbow laces in support of LGBTQ+ rights but his comments thus far on all this just make him look like a tool.

Southgate’s mate!!! Money, money and more money! Of course he does not support LGBTQ anymore than the majority of the players taking the knee for the US crack head! Total hypocrisy!

Perhaps he will want to donate a huge contribution towards equality groups but will he f uck!

Should be dropped from the national side but him and Maguire are the first on the team sheet!

Mata, Kyut, Balotelli, Messi, Drogba even Ronaldo are amongst the exceptionally well paid and influential players who are known to do something to "give back" and I'm sure many other lesser paid footballers also support and donate to various charities and causes but agreeing to play in Saudi and not to use any portion of those wages to help fight the repressions of such a regime or, at the very least, help charities elsewhere seems to me rather morally bankrupt. How much money does one person need?

I know that there are plenty of other sectors which have mega rich individuals aside from business owners/ financiers whether that be film or music stars but the amount of money swilling around the higher echelons of football at the moment is sickening. I know that football is as much a business as a sport but really think that the money is starting to kill the game now as comparatively little filters down to grass roots and it is certainly not the popular sport of the working classes it once was.

Total agree but hypocrites don’t care when money is involved. Look at Beckham and Jug Ears Linekar with Qatar!!! Similar to the Ukraine situation where many become blind as it’s not their family being bombed, executed or wife/daughter being gang raped!!

It shouldn't be about individuals making meaningless statements it should come from governments or sports governing bodies to lead on this.

How powerful would the message be if FIFA 'came out' and said 'No country with anti LBGT laws will be allowed to stage a World Cup' or if F1 said similar about Grand Prixs?
