Thanks for the heads up. Apparently he died a week or so ago but I and seemingly nobody else here had noticed any of the tributes that have been published, including the NEP two days ago.

To be honest, I'd struggle to think of a Notts player I rated less up to that point, he was useless for us and I know I'm not alone in having become incredibly frustrated with Jocky Scott persisting with him. But he evidently had a decent career elsewhere and at 55, well....

    RIP Hammy.

    Deserved his own thread.

Had serious liver issues due to alcoholism according to WBA fans who remember him very fondly (240 apps).
He was 32 by the time he arrived at Notts from Sheff Utd, coming to the end of his career. 34 apps for us then on to Lincoln and finally Woking.

How can anything UTM has posted be described as disrespectful?

So saying that Ian was ‘useless & that he couldn’t think of a Notts player he rated less’ is not disrespectful” ? - We are talking about a human being who has passed away, in those circumstances, if you can’t say anything good then say nothing!

So it's Princess Diana syndrome. Forget honest opinions, if someone dies only praise is allowed.
