I echo your thoughts SB , although if I am being totally honest ladies football does not really do it for me but any team representing our club will always get my support so like yourself I wish them well & hope they get a good result .

I thought it important to wish our Women's Team all the best at Wallsend this weekend.
I may be shooting myself in the foot here and the game has been postponed but I have been searching for any build up news on the game on the Official Website now that the Women's Team is part of the Oakwell set up.
I had anticipated equal internal media coverage to the Men's Team. It will probably be covered by our media team today as the game is Sunday.
I hope the JAQ-inspired initiative gets good coverage throughout the season and not just hype on the opening fixture last Sunday. Fantastic to see that that almost the same attendance of over 2000 were at the Women's game as were at the Men's game on Tuesday.
Go Well JAQ's Barnsley Women !

Thanks to Nick Botten, Head of Sports Sciance for the Women's and Men's Teams down at Oakwell for his work. He has been impressed with the Women's S&C work and this should begin to show itself at Wallsend.
The article from a while back says--
" If you want to get all the latest news from the Women's camp, we have a dedicated news section on our website"....Official Website, click on "News", then scroll down to "Women's Team News".
Nothing yet on the Wallsend game in terms of pre-game coach/players interviews.
Hopefully the team news and match report appears on there at the weekend.
Go Well JAQ's Barnsley Women !
Sorry, a bit of jargon slipped in there.
As most will know "S&C" is what we in the fitness/ Sports Science industry refer to as "Strength and Conditioning". The Science has moved on from the days of press ups, medicine balls and running up hills or round pitches. Nick has the Teams working on things such as aerobic programmes.

North East Regional Women's Football League. Sunday 10th September 2023.
Wallsend Boys Club Women's First Team-v-Barnsley FC
KO 2pm.
I am sure the Oakwell Club will honour it's promise to publish "all the latest news from the Women's camp" on the "dedicated news section on our website" and not relegate it to snippets on Facebook or Twitter X as some do not have such accounts. JAQ would quite rightly demand equality of news coverage as given to the Men's Team now that the Women's Team is fully integrated into the Oakwell club structure. There has been no Match Report on the opening game versus Alnwick but I'm sure that was an oversight after all the build up PR/ Equality statements.

I'm getting worried I have to say , I'm expecting a strongly worded post any day now .
Why haven't you created a Barnsley Women's Team Predictions League and a Match thread ?
Clearly our equality and diversity policy is lacking and we may need dragging and screaming in to the modern world .
Not only that we need an equal amount of predictions as the men's team and a Match thread of at least three pages long .
We need to get our act together !!!
Good luck to them and I hope they are a success. I’ve no interest in women’s football though if I’m honest and I doubt they’ll get so many watching once the sunny afternoons leave us, though I hope they do.
No less a football figure than Julie Anne Quay has said, "We (Barnsley) want to be a leading club in the promotion of women's football". The Website has described this season's games as a "celebration of football, teamwork and progress, we are witnessing history".
As usual CEO Khaled's work has been very impressive, working alongside Julie, getting the new initiative to fruition. The publicity for the first game was hugely commendable, right up to the team being announced on the website prior to the game.
i know Khaled and his team will not let me down and stick with equal coverage to the men every game through the season. Head Coach Jess Horsley and the players deserve nothing less.. The absence of Radio Sheffield and iFollow coverage means the opportunity for a Match Thread on here is not possible but I anticipate a full Match Report on the game on the Official Website to provide equal coverage to the Men's Team.
Team news due at 1-00pm. Looking forward to seeing Jess Horsley's selection on the Website.
Go Well JAQ's Women's Team !

Must be some sort of technical glitch on the Official Website for the team news not to appear.
