Richard Searling, the famed DJ at Wigan Casino, used to work as a buyer for the same company as me. Top man and a genuinely nice bloke who is extremely knowledgeable about Northern Soul. I remember that a few times he had been over to the States to go through the archives of various labels including Motown as part of his research for some new Northern Soul albums that he was compiling and always generously let me have some advance copies.

Was to young to go, love Northern Soul, really glad it’s making a big comeback, if you haven’t already check out the Northern Soul Prom, absolutely brilliant.
